Why don't cannibals eat clowns?

Oliver’s Questions

Turns out, my main source of inspiration for many articles is a pint-sized, 10-year-old dude (my son) who thinks he's got all the answers, forcing me into a constant state of fact-checking.
Through that fact-checking chaos, we turn his “dad, did you know…” moments into bite-sized wisdom you can actually use, or at least laugh at over a beer.

3 traits that mean your dog is a genius

Your dog might be a secret Einstein, or just really good at looking busy. Before you start bragging at the dog park, click through and find out what actually separates a canine genius from a professional sock thief.

when folks stop arguing and start swinging

Someone just lost an argument with you, and instead of admitting it, they're about to make it weirdly personal. If you've ever had a perfectly reasonable point derailed by someone attacking you instead of your idea, welcome to one of the oldest tricks in the book.
Man on the Move
![]() | The Art of Brief Human ConnectionsDudes, most people think connection requires time. Long conversations. Deep talks. Perfect conditions. That’s not connection. That’s scheduling. Real human connection happens in moments. Short ones. Unplanned ones. The kind that fit between meetings, errands, or awkward silences in line. A brief connection isn’t shallow. It’s efficient. |
It’s eye contact with the barista. A genuine “hey, how’s it going?” that actually waits for the answer. A nod that says I see you without demanding anything in return.
You don’t need to download someone’s life story to make them feel human. You just need presence.
Most people miss these moments because they’re rushing. Or scrolling while in line. Or treating every interaction like an obstacle instead of an opportunity. So, they pass through the day untouched, unnoticed, and oddly tired. Ugh, sounds terrible if you think about it
Short connections matter because they remind us that we’re not alone in the room. They don’t drain you. They anchor you.
Here’s the Move: Slow down for five seconds. Look up. Make eye contact. Say something real, even if it’s small. Don’t perform. Don’t impress. Just acknowledge the person in front of you.
Connection doesn’t require depth. It requires attention.
Why Bother: Because loneliness isn’t always about being alone. It’s about being unseen. Brief human connections stack up. They soften days. They steady moods. They remind you that the world is full of people, not obstacles.
You don’t need more followers. You need more moments where you’re actually there.
Real connection doesn’t demand time. It just asks that you show up.
