The Kentucky Spring Beer TrailTM
Spring into Refreshment: The Kentucky Spring Beer Trail™
As the sun starts showing up fashionably late but staying longer, it’s officially time to shut the bourbon cabinet (just for a minute, calm down) and crack open something cold, crisp, and local.
Enter the Kentucky Spring Beer Trail™, your unofficial, totally made-up-but-should-be-real tour of some of the state’s finest springtime brews.
We’re talking about beers that pair perfectly with mowing your lawn, grilling on the porch, or just sitting in a camp chair thinking about mowing your lawn.
Here’s your starting lineup of must-hit breweries across the Bluegrass:

🍺 Flywheel Brewing – Elizabethtown
A hidden gem in E-town turning out big flavors in a small-town setting.
Local Favorites: Malterior Motive (Red/Amber Ale), Sheeeesh (Lager), The Greatest Dane (NEIPA)

🍺 Against the Grain Brewery – Louisville
If this place were a person, it’d have a mustache, a PBR shirt, and a PhD in hops.
Local Favorites: The Brown Note (Brown Ale), 35K (Milk Stout), Pile of Face (IPA)

🍺 Dry Ground Brewing Company – Paducah
Craft beer blooming right on the river. Dry Ground knows how to refresh the thirsty.
Local Favorites: 1962 Pale Ale, Cactus Juice Sour, Blackout IPA

🍺 White Squirrel Brewery – Bowling Green
Yes, it’s named after a white squirrel. No, we don’t know why either. But the beer’s good.
Local Favorites: White Squirrel Wheat, Nut Brown Ale, Hop Nugget IPA

🍺 West Sixth Brewing – Lexington
Lexington’s OG craft brewery—and it just keeps getting better.
Local Favorites: West Sixth IPA, Lemongrass American Wheat, Pay It Forward Cocoa Porter

The Kentucky Spring Beer Trail™ might not come with official passports or t-shirts (yet), but it does come with the chance to support local breweries, find your new favorite spring beer, and tell people you’re on a “trail” so they can’t judge you for day drinking.
Cheers to spring, sunshine, and suds.
