The Goatman of Pope Lick

Kentucky’s Most Terrifying Urban Legend

The Goatman of Pope Lick: Kentucky’s Most Terrifying Urban Legend

Kentucky has some weird folklore, but nothing beats the Goatman of Pope Lick.

According to legend, this half-man, half-goat creature haunts the train trestle near Louisville.

Depending on who you ask, he’s either the result of a bizarre experiment gone wrong or some kind of supernatural entity.

Either way, he’s not friendly.

The Goatman is said to lure people onto the trestle, where they either get stuck or are chased to their doom.

While it’s all spooky fun, the Pope Lick Trestle is still an active railroad track, and unfortunately, real-life accidents have occurred due to thrill-seekers trying to catch a glimpse of the Goatman.

So, if you’re looking for a scare, maybe stick to ghost tours and horror movies instead.
